Whelping Supplies

All things whelping and puppy related.

Whelping Box and Pig Rails

So we used this square pool and 4x4 rails at first. And then went for this 4x6 box with rails.

Puppy pads and Pee Pads

We use the EZ puppy pads. The 4x4 pads fit into the pool above perfectly. We use these larger pads under the smaller ones in birthing and once the puppies go into the puppy room.

List of items for your whelping Kit

Oral Cal Plus  Colostrum  Probiotic Gel  Scale   Goats Milk(dried or frozen)  Hemostats  Stethoscope  Suction bulb Thermometer Karo Syrup  Dental floss  Gloves  Microfiber cloths  Scissors  yarn or Colored Collars Vaseline

List of Wormers

Safeguard   Pyrantel   Toltrazuril

Drontal (adults)

Liver Water

Fresh beef liver Parboiled.  This means brought to the beginnings of a simmer.  Just enough of a boil to force the blood out of the liver into the water you're boiling it in.  Which should only be enough water to cover the liver in the pan.  Remove the liver and cool.   Pour the water into ice cube trays and freeze.  Place trays in Ziplock bags once frozen.    Have this ready before Delivery, so that it's at your disposal when needed most.   We do feed the liver to our mom but in small amounts. It's very rich.

Mothers Mash

I start mom on this a week before birth and through until weaning.
2.5 cups of TLC dog food
1 egg
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1 cup goats milk(we use fresh frozen)
for breakfast.
then repeat recipe without egg for dinner

Heating pad

I bought the largest first and I'm glad I did but I will also be getting the smaller one as well.

Microchips

I use AKC Reunite.

My Puppy Room

All the things i have found to fill my room. They will change and be added to constantly.

GFloor

This comes in many sizes, textures and colors.  I got a 17' x 7.5' roll of Lavant Leather in black from Lowes for $200. Ive linked the product on amazon.

Fencing, or play pen panels

we have three 18 panel sets. This affords me to go around the whole room, then I also divide the puppy area in two. I have a door for each half and a door in between the halves to allow the puppies access to either side.

Air conditioner condensation pan

Only pan i could find with a solid two-inch lip.   I use this for litter pan training. I use Alfalfa or Pine pellets, for Stall bedding, as my litter.

Puppy Play Station

After seeing these things for $200 i thought we would just make our own. So about $150 later i had a much larger one then wouldn't have been able to be shipped.  i feel its size helps it stay relevant as the pups get older.  Plus, with its purple accents i love mine.  We bought a box of safety chain, which is enough for two stations. Then i bought small and medium toys to switch out as the pups got bigger.

Weanafeeder

This is extremely easy to use and clean. They are pricey.

Large 48" crate
six 24" crates

we use these to help with crate training our litters. Each crate has its own crate liner

Soft Stairs and slide

This was a lucky buy from a local Liquidation store. Its also where i get all my crates.

Silly Beds

there is always room for silly beds and silly beds with puppies in them pictures!
